Three Decades of Process Control Innovation

Founded in 1991 as BaRaN Systems, CTRL Designer LLC has been at the forefront of process control design software for over thirty years. Located in Boston, Massachusetts and Toronto, Canada, the company has grown from a specialist consultancy into a focused software and work process provider serving industrial clients worldwide.

We provide Microsoft Excel-based add-in solutions for data analysis, project planning, and process control implementation — as well as the conversion of operational data into structured engineering specifications. Our tools are purpose-built for the ISA‑106 and IEC 63690 procedural automation standards, enabling engineering teams to move from Standard Operating Procedures to deployable control system code within a single, traceable workflow.
